If You’re Not Willing to Be Honest, Don’t Write the Book

If you’re a leader looking to write a book, be as honest as you can about your journey else don’t bother writing it!

You may think a corporate, very dry, very serious book will be what sets you apart, but take it from me – it won’t.

Your potential reader/client is a person before they are a client, a businessperson or anything else, and nothing will change that.

So, speak to the person. Speak to the human. Get inside their grey matter and their heart and make it pump a little faster as they consume your story.

Make a DIFFERENCE by connecting to their soul. Make them feel what you felt and what they may have felt too.

Be mindful of what content you believe you should omit – as this is likely the content you must include! (I’ve seen it over and over with clients.)

And if you’re not able, don’t have time, have zero interest in penning an entire book (yes, it’s a little different to writing an article or social media post!) – hire me.

Knowing that the “stuff you’ve been through” is what draws your clients is amplified when you share your “stuff” in your book.

Here is the proof. And it’s been said over and over and over by my clients for the last eight years.

That’s a whole lot of very important feedback not to be ignored. That is freaking potent.

Quote from a client:

“What can I say… words aren’t really enough to convey how supportive Sam has been during my book creation process. I was drawn to Sam by her authenticity and the fact that she’s been through stuff…

I needed to know that the person who would edit my book could handle my story, for my first version had sat on my laptop for years! I couldn’t bring myself to read it.

Sam is friendly, empathetic, structured, and boundary-setting, which is much needed to feel held and supported as you embrace your authenticity and vulnerabilities as an author.

Thank you, Sam.”
